I have practiced in psychiatry for over 25 years in both the NHS and private sector treating a wide range of mental health problems and psychological difficulties. I work as a partner in the Chelsea and Harley Street Eating Disorder Service, a small group of highly experienced therapists, psychologists and dieticians offering individualised and comprehensive treatment.
I trained in general psychiatry at St Georges Hospital Medical School in London before developing an interest in eating disorders. I held the position of Senior Lecturer at the medical school and Consultant Psychiatrist at the internationally renown St Georges Eating Disorder service for several years. During this time I published widely on a number of subjects including body image treatment and the impact of anorexia nervosa on fertility and brain function. Ten years ago I transitioned fully from the NHS into private practice and now have consulting rooms at Wilbraham Place Practice in Chelsea and The Orchard Clinic in Twickenham. I see both adults and adolescents and their families with a wide range of eating and body image concerns as well as adults with more general mental health problems such as stress, grief, anxiety, depression, OCD and adjustment difficulties.
